FAQ
Does it work offline? Yes. The app ships with the full bar list and photos. When you're online it quietly fetches the latest list from sippyme.app. The map itself needs a connection.
Do I need an account? No. You can browse, use Near me, and spin the gacha without one. A free email account syncs more favourites, hop routes and the Stamp Book. Guests keep a few saves on this device only.
Why does it ask for my location? When you tap “Near me” or the locate button, to sort places by distance. That reading stays on your phone. Members who tap “Stamp 蓋印” send one reading so we can check they are within about 100 m. The coordinates are discarded; we keep the stamp and the distance rounded to 10 m.
Where are my favourites? Guests: on this device only. Members: saved to the SippyMe account. You can delete the account from the account page, which removes the email, password hash, saves, routes and stamps from our database.
How are bars chosen? Each bar needs 2026 evidence that it's operating (50 Best rankings, Time Out, dated articles or venue pages). See About in the app.
